Hot summer days. Those are words most people love to hear…except when getting into their sizzling hot car that’s been frying in the sun all day. But how can you prevent your car from getting too hot? The logical answer would be to park your car in a shady area. However, when that’s not available, we have some other tips you can try.

• Be on full blast. The most efficient way to cool down your car is to put your air conditioner on full blast and slightly open all of your windows. This will allow the hot air to rise and be pushed out of the windows as the cool air comes out of the vents.
• Sun shades. These are great devices because they absorb the direct rays that hit your vehicle. Don’t want to invest in sun shades? Blankets will do the same thing.
• Crack your windows. Slightly cracking your windows and sunroof can increase airflow and decrease the temperature in your car. Only leave them slightly cracked to minimalize your possibility of theft.

There are also many options for your car that you can buy to make summer months more comfortable.

• Air conditioned seats
• Tinted windows
• Invest in checking your air conditioners frequently
