This year our agency decided we wanted to do something more to benefit our community. As we brainstormed ideas, cancer research and funding immediately came to the forefront. Sadly, it seems everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. We knew it was the right charity and decided to raise money for the American Cancer Society and participate in Cook for the Cure and Relay for Life.
Our fundraising began in March when our agency sponsored Quaker Valley’s Cook for the Cure. We heard inspirational speakers, who are cancer survivors, shared their stories of their battle against cancer.
From March until June, our agency reached out to friends, family and customers, asking them to participate and donate on behalf of Team Diemert. On May 30th 2015, we walked laps at Relay for Life in honor of those who were lost to cancer, those currently fighting the battle against cancer, and cancer survivors.
In the end, we reached our goal of raising over $1,000, with our total amount raised being $1,625! Quaker Valley Relay for Life collectively raised roughly $30,000 for the American Cancer Society. Thank you to all who participated or donated, it means the world to us that we’re helping fight the battle against cancer together.
However, the fight’s not over! If you’re interested in donating to the American Cancer Society or learning more about it, you can find more information here.
